The chain of lakes are in southwest Orange County. There is a public boat ramp.
Conway Chain of Lakes
Orange County, Orlando, SE
There are five (5) lakes, each with its own boat ramp. Located not too far from Orlando International Airport. One of the ramps is a block east of the intersection of Hoffner and Orange Avenue.
Moss Park
Orange County, Orlando, SE
Two (2) boat ramps here. Located south of Orlando International Airport.
Winter Park Chain of Lakes
Orange County, Winter Park, NW
More private but popular with local people. You need a permit to launch a boat and use facilities. 407.623.3300 for more information.
St. John's River

Popular for water skiing. Boat ramp near the St. John's River bridge in Sanford.
Canoeing
You can rent a canoe or kayak at these locations. There are also guided tours.
Blue Springs State Park
Volusia County, NW
Heavy traffic and a strong current. You can access the St. John's River from here. Manatees call this park home in the winter and you can get a close look. 386.775.3363
Wekiva River 7 Rock Springs Run
Orange County, NW
Rock Springs Run is about 8 miles long and has swimming and picknicking spots along the trip. It merges with the slower and longer Wekiva River and runs for another 16 miles, finally meeting and merging with the St. John's River. Launch your canoe at King's Landing (CR 435, Apopka). 407.884.2008
Econlockhatchee River

Called the Econ, it has a canoe trail running nearly 19 miles. Some of it runs through the Little-Big Eco State Forest Wath out for inconsistent currents and sharp curves. 407.836.6200 for more information.

A fishing license is required by the State of Florida for anyone over the age of 16 and under the age of 65. For license information: www.floridagame.com. Freshwater lakes abound and the fishing is wonderful. Also, deep sea fishing off the coast. Many private charters.

It is said that the best areas are around Brahma Island and the shoreline of Kissimmee River State Park. Fish for bass, bluegill and redear sunfish. Early Summer is good for largemouth bass.
Lake Monroe

Easiest way to access this 9400 acre lake is from the marina in downtown Sanford.There are crappie, bluegill, and largemouth bass and there are more bass on the west side of the lake.
