Thereare about 60,000 students enrolled annually at the six campuses and centers throughout Orange and Osceola counties. There are day, evening and weekend classes. Seminole Community College

Classes began at Seminole in 1966. The student population has grown from 700 to more than 30,000. Seminole county is one of the fastest growing in Florida and this growth is reflected in the enrollment. The college is located on 170 beautiful acres in Lake Mary, just north of Altamonte Springs.

Seminole is a comprehensive community college and offers instruction in three distinct areas. The first is the College Credit Program which offers the associate in arts degree, providing the first two years of a four-year Baccalaureate degree. The applied technologies division of the college offers 22 two-year associate in science degrees and four one-year certificate programs which provide occupational training for immediate job entry.

The second major area of instruction is the Vocational Non-Credit Program which offers classes in 27 different career areas. Certificate programs range from one week to two years. During each term about 100 supplemental or continuing education courses are offered to provide for persons already employed or persons trying to update or add job skills.

The third area of instruction is the Open Campus and Adult High School. This is designed to meet the lifelong learning needs of the residents and work force of Seminole County. The adult High School serves as an alternative high school for selected students who left the public school system and seek a high school diploma.

There is a cooperative education which allows students to gain experience with local Seminole County companies.

You can participate in inter-collegiate Sports/Recreation. Seminole boasts such graduates as American League all-star reliever Bobby Thigpen.

Seminole's main campus is located on U.S. 17-92 south of Sanford and east of Lake Mary, with easy access from Interstate 4.
